House Democrats voted to oust Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House this week. One of the those votes was Maryland Congressman Glenn Ivey. Rep. Ivey discusses why he voted to oust him and how they plan to work with House Republicans.

This new member of Congress is a familiar face for many veterans on Capitol Hill from his days as a staffer. He has had a very long career in public service in Maryland, and being a member of Congress is likely the capstone of his political career. He is a pragmatist at heart, and he is willing to work across the aisle to get things done.

WASHINGTON (7News) — Even though Congress was able to avert a government shutdown by approving a resolution to extend funding for 45 days, lawmakers and those who would have been impacted by furloughs are only able to breathe a momentary sigh of relief.

Trump's criminal trial in Florida for the alleged mishandling of classified records is scheduled to begin just two months later, as the presidential primary season will conclude. But there will be cameras in at least one of Trump's trials. In Georgia, Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee has ruled that all related hearings and trials in that case will be televised. State law there allows for televised proceedings as long as the cameras do not disrupt the proceedings.

At-risk communities, defined by factors like socioeconomic status, ethnicity, and geographic location, bear the disproportionate burden of cancer. These disparities are not just the result of genetics but are rooted in systemic inequalities that impact access to healthcare, education, and healthy living environments.

A group of nine members of the Congressional Black Caucus visited Israel last week on a delegation sponsored by the AIPAC-affiliated American Israel Education Foundation. The group has since continued on to Rwanda as part of the trip.
