Congressman Glenn Ivey Provides Statement on Presidential Address to Joint Session of Congress

March 4, 2025

Washington, DC— Congressman Glenn Ivey provided the following statement regarding his attendance to President Trump's address to a joint session of Congress this evening:

"As the Congressman for Maryland’s Fourth Congressional District, I recognize the tremendous responsibility I have to my constituents to advocate on their behalf and ensure that their interests are represented at all times. Because of this, I cannot in good faith attend President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress this evening. The President and his allies have upended the lives of thousands of working people in the communities I represent and have caused pain for families across my district. Rather than listen to the President deliver more empty words and promises, I will instead remain focused on fighting back against the damage done by this President."
